Description
A cowardly murder, a dark mystery, and an illicit romance combine to create a dark and atmospheric melodrama and an all-time classic of Mexican cinema. After the violent death of her father and betrayal by her fiancé, Rosaria is cast adrift in Vera Cruz. She becomes a prostitute, living above a cabaret and working “to please the men who come from the sea.” One night a handsome, lonely sailor rescues Rosaria from a brutal drunk. A romance begins to blossom between the two lost souls, but the revelation of a shocking secret shatters their only chance at happiness.
