In March 2018, Salisbury become the site of an unprecedented emergency after a nerve agent attack on a Russian double-agent and his daughter garnered international attention. As traces of the deadly poison were found throughout the city, officials scrambled to understand what was happening and how to protect the residents. Tracy Daszkiewicz, a local council public health official, found herself thrust into the center of the storm as she coordinated lockdown and decontamination efforts amidst uncertainty and increasing public panic. Through the extraordinary heroism of the local community, and not without tragedy, the city of Salisbury pulled together and persevered.
